Crystal Palace Stand Firm On Marc Guehi After Newcastle Bids

Crystal Palace Reject Fourth Newcastle Bid for Marc Guehi Amidst High Asking Price

Newcastle United's Pursuit Continues Despite Crystal Palace's Stance

Palace Hold Firm at £65m Valuation

Crystal Palace have rejected Newcastle United's fourth bid for their captain, Marc Guehi, amidst reports that the Eagles are seeking a staggering £65m for the defender.

The Tyneside club have been heavily linked with a move for Guehi throughout the summer transfer window, and have already had three offers turned down by Palace.

Guehi, 21, has been a key player for Crystal Palace since breaking into the first team in 2020, and was part of the England squad that reached the final of the European Championship last summer.

Newcastle United are in desperate need of defensive reinforcements after selling Fabian Schar to Manchester United earlier this summer.

However, it remains to be seen whether they are willing to meet Crystal Palace's asking price for Guehi, who is contracted to the Eagles until 2026.

Newcastle's Transfer Window So Far

Newcastle United have been one of the most active clubs in the transfer market this summer, having already signed Nick Pope, Sven Botman, and Matt Targett.

However, the Magpies have also seen a number of players leave the club, including Isaac Hayden, Dwight Gayle, and Ciaran Clark.

Eddie Howe's side are now looking to add a new center-back to their squad, and Guehi is one of their top targets.

Guehi's Future Uncertain

It is unclear at this stage whether Guehi will eventually make the move to Newcastle United.

The defender is said to be happy at Crystal Palace, but he may be tempted by the prospect of playing for a club that is challenging for major honours.

Palace, meanwhile, are determined to keep hold of their prized asset, and will only sell him if they receive an offer that meets their valuation.
