Bill Manning Departs Toronto FC and Toronto Argonauts

Longtime Sports Executive Moves On

Mutual Agreement Reached

Toronto, ON - Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment (MLSE) and Bill Manning have mutually agreed to part ways, effective immediately. Manning has served as President of both Toronto FC (MLS) and the Toronto Argonauts (CFL) since 2015.

Under Manning's leadership, Toronto FC won the MLS Cup in 2017 and the Canadian Championship in 2016, 2017, and 2018. The Argonauts also captured the Grey Cup in 2017.

MLSE President and CEO Michael Friisdahl thanked Manning for his contributions to the organization.

"We would like to thank Bill for his dedication and hard work during his time with MLSE," said Friisdahl. "He has been a valuable member of our team and we wish him all the best in his future endeavors."

Manning leaves MLSE with a strong legacy of success. He was instrumental in building Toronto FC into a perennial contender and helped revitalize the Argonauts franchise.

The search for Manning's successor is expected to begin immediately. In the meantime, MLSE COO and CFO Nick Eaves will assume oversight of both Toronto FC and the Argonauts.
