Former France International to Take Up a Coaching Role in Ireland

Union Bordeaux Bègles Confirm Bru's Departure

Top 14 club Union Bordeaux Bègles have confirmed that head coach Yannick Bru will leave the club at the end of the season.

The former France international will join Irish province Leinster Rugby in a coaching role, with the move expected to be announced officially in the coming days.

Bru has been in charge of Bordeaux since 2018, and has led the club to the Top 14 final twice, in 2019 and 2021.

Leinster Rugby Target European Success with Bru

Leinster Rugby are one of the most successful clubs in European rugby, having won the Heineken Champions Cup four times in the last decade.

The province will be hoping that Bru can help them add to their trophy haul, with the club having been knocked out of the Champions Cup at the semi-final stage in each of the last two seasons.

Bru has a wealth of experience in European rugby, having played for Biarritz Olympique and Perpignan in the Heineken Cup, and he will be hoping to use that experience to help Leinster Rugby achieve their goals.

Bru's Departure a Blow to Bordeaux

Bru's departure is a blow to Bordeaux, who have been one of the most consistent teams in the Top 14 in recent seasons.

The club will now be on the lookout for a new head coach, with former Clermont Auvergne coach Franck Azema being one of the favorites for the role.

Bordeaux will be hoping to find a replacement for Bru who can continue the club's recent success, and they will be hoping to avoid a drop in form similar to that experienced by Stade Francais following the departure of Gonzalo Quesada in 2021.
